Elephant Hawk Moth ...

I found this 3 inch long caterpillar eating my hardy fuschia. Apparently, that is the larval food plant for this species.

This got trapped in our conservatory. I helped it out of the window shortly afterwards.

So cute! Unfortunately, a cat killed it the next day. Oh, how I hate cats!!
